Financial Assistance for the cost of medical school applications

The costs of taking the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT®) and completing the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) shouldn't be a barrier to your medical school dreams. There are fee waivers available for applicants whose families have limited resources. For example, the AAMC's Fee Assistance Program (FAP) helps students with extreme financial limitations whose inability to pay the full MCAT registration fee or the AMCAS fee would prevent them taking the examination or applying to medical school.

  • Medical Minority Applicant Registry (Med-MAR) - Free Resource! external image ,DanaInfo=www.aspiringdocs.org+data.pngStudents applying to medical school who are from groups that are underrepresented in medicine or who are economically disadvantaged are given the opportunity to register for Med-MAR at the time they take the MCAT. The Med-MAR program helps to alert medical schools that these students have taken the MCAT and are potential applicants. With the student's prior approval, Med-MAR circulates basic biographical information and MCAT scores to all U.S. medical schools for free.
